Explore alternatives and stress-test assumptions when refining a vague idea into a concrete concept or evaluating an early plan.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Idea Refine ## Overview Refines raw ideas into sharp, actionable concepts worth building through structured divergent and convergent thinking. ## When to Use - Use when an idea needs shaping, alternative directions, or assumption testing before planning. - If the user is unsure what they want, use `interview-me`; if the direction is already chosen and needs a spec, use `spec-driven-development`. ## How It Works 1. **Understand & Expand (Divergent):** Restate the idea, ask sharpening questions, and generate variations. 2. **Evaluate & Converge:** Cluster ideas, stress-test them, and surface hidden assumptions. 3. **Sharpen & Ship:** Produce a concrete markdown one-pager moving work forward. ## Usage This skill is primarily an interactive dialogue. Invoke it with an idea, and the agent will guide you through the process. ```bash # Optional: Initialize the ideas directory bash "/path/to/idea-refine/scripts/idea-refine.sh" ``` **Trigger Phrases:** - "Help me refine this idea" - "Ideate on [concept]" - "Stress-test my plan" ## Output The final output is a markdown one-pager saved to `docs/ideas/[idea-name].md` (after user confirmation), containing: - Problem Statement …

How to install
mdr add seaworld008/commonly-used-high-value-skills/idea-refine@sha256:2604c810b57cadf4The line at the top of this page pins the label v1.0.3, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
