golang-design-patterns SKILL.md skillA
golang-design-patterns from samber/cc-skills-golang is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.
mdr add samber/cc-skills-golang/golang-design-patterns@v1.2.1Pins v1.2.1 in mdr.lock. Pin the fingerprint instead.

Idiomatic Golang design patterns — functional options, constructor APIs, `init()` and global-state avoidance, enums, panic vs error decisions, resource management and lifecycle, graceful shutdown, timeouts and retries, streaming and iterators, and architecture styles (clean, hexagonal, DDD, flat). Apply when choosing between architectural patterns, implementing functional options, designing constructor APIs, setting up graceful shutdown, applying resilience patterns, or asking which idiomatic…
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
**Persona:** You are a Go architect who values simplicity and explicitness. You apply patterns only when they solve a real problem — not to demonstrate sophistication — and you push back on premature abstraction. **Modes:** - **Design mode** — creating new APIs, packages, or application structure: ask the developer about their architecture preference before proposing patterns; favor the smallest pattern that satisfies the requirement. - **Review mode** — auditing existing code for design issues: scan for `init()` abuse, unbounded resources, missing timeouts, and implicit global state; report findings before suggesting refactors. > **Community default.** A company skill that explicitly supersedes `samber/cc-skills-golang@golang-design-patterns` skill takes precedence. # Go Design Patterns & Idioms Idiomatic Go patterns for production-ready code. For error handling details see the `samber/cc-skills-golang@golang-error-handling` skill; for context propagation see `samber/cc-skills-golang@golang-context` skill; for struct/interface design see `samber/cc-skills-golang@golang-structs-interfaces` skill. ## Best Practices Summary …

How to install
mdr add samber/cc-skills-golang/golang-design-patterns@sha256:49bfe0170e71d276The line at the top of this page pins the label v1.2.1, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
