Independently verify that a finished change does what was asked: rerun tests, build, lint, and exercise the behavior end to end before reporting done.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Verify before reporting done
1. Restate what "done" means for the request as 2-5 checkable statements.
2. Run the project's real checks, not a subset: the test command, type checker, linter and build
that CI runs (read `.github/workflows/*` to find them). Record exact commands and exit codes.
3. Exercise the changed behavior directly (see the `run` skill): one normal case, one edge case,
one failure case.
4. Review the full diff (`git diff` against the base) for leftovers: debug prints, commented-out
code, unrelated edits, secrets, TODOs you introduced.
5. If anything fails, fix it and repeat from step 2. Do not report success on static reading alone.
6. Report: each statement from step 1 with evidence (command + result), and anything you could not
verify and why.
The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261029.2b2a16a, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
