Create a GitHub Release with categorized English notes from git history, on any stack. Follows the repo's tag series (`v1.2.0`, `<package>-v1.2.0`), covers a first release, and edits the notes of an already-published version instead of tagging it twice. Triggers — release, release notes, GitHub Release, gh release, changelog, semver, monorepo.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

Can be combined with a version (e.g.: `1.0.0 --path src/api`). - **Empty**: ask the user which version to use before proceeding. --- ## Objective Create or update a **GitHub Release** with detailed release notes in **English**, covering the changes since the previous release of the same tag series (the whole history for a first release). --- ## Constraints - The project stays as it is: no file edited, no commit pushed. The only write is the GitHub Release, created or with its notes edited. - Everything in the note comes from git data. --- ## Execution — Step by Step ### 0. Parse arguments Extract from `$ARGUMENTS`: - `$NEW_VERSION` — the semantic version (if provided) - `$PATH_FILTER` — the `--path` value (if provided). mdr add j0ruge/skills/release@sha256:b3327be764620674The line at the top of this page pins the label v2.0.1, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
