# opensrc `opensrc/` is project-local, gitignored library context: one manifest of declared packages and one notes file per package, filled from official sources so plans and code use the real API of the installed version instead of a remembered one. ## 1. Build the skeleton Run the script from the project root (the folder holding `package.json`). The script lives in this skill's `scripts/` folder: ```bash python3 "<this skill's dir>/scripts/opensrc.py" --root . --fetch-metadata ``` It reads `dependencies` and `devDependencies`, writes `opensrc/manifest.json` (name, declared range, dev flag, npm URL, plus latest version, repository and homepage from `registry.npmjs.org` when `--fetch-metadata` is set), creates `opensrc/packages/<name>.md` stubs for packages that have none (it never overwrites a file), and appends `opensrc/` to `.gitignore` if no entry covers it. Drop `--fetch-metadata` when offline; earlier metadata is kept. Done when: the script prints `"ok": true`. Read its `pending`, `metaErrors` and `removed` lists. A package in `removed` left `package.json`; delete its notes file if nothing else uses it. ## 2. Pick what to fill …

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
