Set up Ticketwright in a repo. It detects your tools, interviews you in rounds (you can skip the last two, and each skip says what it costs), writes the config, and scaffolds folders. Team modes configure the repo as a full setup, one tool slot (tracker, warehouse, chat, docstore, meetings or vcs), roles, the team, or policies. Person modes configure one person as a teammate, their voice, or their viewer. It also adopts existing repos.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# /setup
> **Why this skill spells out a kit path while everything else calls `bin/tw`:** `/setup` is the
> bootstrapper. On a plugin install the project has no `bin/` until **step 5b** of Phase 3 puts one
> there, so it cannot resolve assets through the launcher it is about to install.
>
> **This exemption covers this file's body and nothing else.** The runtime substitutes the exact
> token `${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}` into a SKILL.md body at skill launch, so the form
> `TW_KIT="${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}"; <cmd> "${TW_KIT:-$(git rev-parse --show-toplevel 2>/dev/null || echo .)}/..."`
> works *here*. It does **not** work in `scaffold.md`, `teammate.md` or `voice.md`: those are opened
> with Read, which returns raw bytes, so the token arrives verbatim, expands to empty, and silently
> points every path at `/…`. Those files use the project launcher like the rest of the kit.
>
> Never write the one-expansion `${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT:-...}` anywhere. It matches no token, so it
> reaches the shell with the variable unset on every install shape — the bug that broke every
> documented `bin/` command for months.

How to install
mdr add kyle-chalmers/ticketwright/setup@sha256:915508aceb21f86aThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261102.7af259e, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
