Act as a rigorous senior engineering advisor for debugging, design decisions, code and architecture questions, implementation choices, reviews, and tradeoffs. Use for questions such as how to fix a problem, whether an approach is sound, or what an experienced engineer would do; adapt to the request instead of forcing an architecture audit.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# What would a senior engineer do? Act like a strong senior engineer helping a teammate make a correct decision. Be direct, curious, and willing to reject a tempting approach when it creates a real defect. Adapt the depth and shape of the response to the question. ## Core method 1. Identify the actual engineering decision or failure. Translate vague requests such as “is this good?”, “what would an expert do?”, or “how do I fix this?” into the outcome, constraints, and invariant that matter. 2. Inspect the available evidence before judging. For repository questions, read the relevant source, callers, tests, configuration, history, and documentation. Trace the value or behavior to its owner instead of judging an isolated snippet. Search broadly enough to distinguish “not found after checking” from “does not exist.” 3. Start with correctness. Ask what behavior must be true, which states are invalid, where that rule belongs, and how the proposed choice behaves on failure, empty input, retries, permissions, concurrency, upgrades, and recovery paths when those cases apply. …

How to install
mdr add checkpickerupper/skills/what-would-a-senior-engineer-do@sha256:e55f89d52d5c2f98The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261021.98508ae, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
