Create, inspect, revise and deliver editable 3D assets through Kiln's connected hosted service, or reopen assets saved in that account. Use for hosted Kiln work; keep an existing local Kiln workspace on its local workflow unless the user chooses hosted storage.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Work with hosted Kiln Use the connected Kiln tools for the requested asset work. Account connection and sign-in belong to the host and Kiln website; never ask for a password, token or code in chat. If the connection is unavailable, explain that step without pretending a local installation can access the hosted account. Read [the program contract](references/program-contract.md) before authoring new source. `kiln_discover` retrieves geometry helpers, examples and input shapes; `kiln_capabilities` reports hosted runtime facts. Use the tool schemas currently exposed by this connection. Renderer setup and local CLI instructions in general engine references are not steps for this hosted workflow. ## Create and review Match the brief's subject, scale, style and destination. Standalone assets need no project. Use [geometry recipes](references/geometry-recipes.md) for construction, curved surfaces and joints that must fit or move; search Discovery for unfamiliar helper contracts. How to install
mdr add instruktlabs/kiln/kiln-hosted@sha256:8d1a322ad97b3072The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261010.c507135, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
