Turns study materials (PDFs, lecture notes, tables, slides in a folder) into understanding-focused study notes that explain connections ("X is like this BECAUSE ...") instead of just listing facts, with "Why?" boxes, mnemonics and overview tables. A proofreading agent then checks everything against the sources, and the result is exported as a nicely formatted PDF. Use when the user wants to study for an exam or test, wants materials "summarized", "connections explained", "study notes" or a…
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Study notes – understand connections instead of memorizing The user is studying for exams (any subject: medicine, law, sciences, languages …). Goal: study notes that **explain why things are the way they are**, with mnemonics, exported as a good-looking PDF. Language: **if the user writes in the same language as the materials, use that language and don't ask.** If they differ (e.g. the user writes German, the materials are English) or the materials are mixed, **ask at the very start** – as the first question, as soon as you have seen the materials and before anything else – which language they want: the user's language or the language of the materials. Use the multiple-choice question tool if available, otherwise one short line in the chat. Then write the notes in that language (and set `lang` accordingly). This language question comes before the questions in step 2. Friendly and easy to follow, but technically precise. Argument (optional): path to the folder or files containing the materials. If missing, ask for it. …

How to install
mdr add blackpaired/ai-study-notes/study-notes@sha256:832bbf2e376f2eecThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261025.3bedf00, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
