Use when writing or fixing documentation: README files, guides, how-tos, API references, concept pages, and ADRs. Cuts docs to what the reader needs, puts a picture before detail, and uses plain words. Two modes: write a new doc in a fixed 5 layer shape, or trim an existing doc and report what was cut.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

## The shape
Every doc, every type, same order. Only layer 3 changes by type.

Layer rules:
- No layer repeats the one above it.
- No jargon in layers 1 to 2. Name things the way a new reader would.
- Layer 5 never holds a step needed to finish layer 3.
- If a layer would be empty, drop it. Do not pad it.

How to install
mdr add leahycc/claude-skills/plain-docs@sha256:0b0f03b797cc0376The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261024.4f72c1b, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
