Build a durable knowledge pack in the hub for one subject — a small always-read index plus numbered load-on-demand files, every claim sourced and graded. Use when the user says "build a knowledge pack", "make a reference on X", or when you notice you keep re-deriving or re-researching the same subject across sessions.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Knowledge pack A knowledge pack is a folder of markdown holding what is worth knowing about one subject, arranged so a later session loads only the part it needs. A single rule file has to be either short enough to always load or deep enough to be worth writing. A pack is both: a tiny index that is always read, and large files read only when the task touches them. ## When it earns its place Only when something keeps being re-derived: a design system's rules, a compliance regime, a vendor's API quirks, a market you serve. If nothing re-derives it, a single hub note is enough. Check the hub first for an existing pack or note. ## Layout (in the hub, e.g. `<hub>/knowledge/<subject>/`) ``` index.md the spine and routing table; always read first 01-<topic>.md one file per sub-domain, numbered in reading order NN-<topic>.md sources.md every source, with its tier and how to re-fetch it ``` ## File contract Frontmatter on every file: ```yaml --- name: <kebab-case, matches filename> description: <one line: what this file knows> read-when: <a concrete trigger, e.g. "before choosing a payment flow"> tier-key: <what A/B/C mean in this file> --- ``` Body rules: …

How to install
mdr add mancerayder42/jarvis-os/knowledge-pack@sha256:4faf4d7df37912c1The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261001.dbca020, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
