Use when two screenshots of the same screen each show a different transient overlay (a hover tooltip, a popover, a hover toolbar, an open menu) and one image has to show both. Also when someone says "combine these two screenshots", "put both tooltips in one image", "align these and merge the difference", or hands over two captures that are a few pixels apart. Aligns the captures on the pixels they share, numbers every component where they differ, and pastes the picked overlay along its own…
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. # Screenshot overlays: two hover states in one image A tooltip shows only while the pointer rests on its target, so one screenshot holds one tooltip. To show two, you take two captures and combine them. The captures rarely line up: the window moved, or the crop started a few pixels further along. A paste by eye then leaves a seam or a doubled line of text. This skill does the three parts that go wrong by hand: 1. **Align.** It finds the offset from the text and icons the captures share, and trusts it only when tiles across the image agree. An overlay in one capture only makes its own tiles disagree. 2. **List.** It numbers every component, a region where the aligned captures differ, and draws the numbers on a contact sheet. You look at the sheet and pick. 3. **Merge.** It cuts the picked overlay out along its outline, arrow included, and pastes it into the other capture. It does not copy a faint hover tint around the overlay, except in a one-pixel ring at its edge. …

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
