Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Second brain The context repo is the difference between an assistant that knows the user and one that asks the same three questions every session. It is plain markdown in git, not a database, and that is deliberate: the user can read it, correct it, and see its history. Your job is to keep it true and to use it before guessing. ## Layout `setup.sh` creates five flat files, which is the right starting shape: ``` YOU.md identity, background, how they work NOW.md current roles, active projects, priorities, what is broken PEOPLE.md collaborators, family, professional network SYSTEM.md hooks, commands, MCP, infrastructure STACK.md tech stack and standards ``` `YOU.md` and `NOW.md` are the two the session hook loads, so keep them tight. `NOW.md` is the most useful file and the one most likely to be stale. Once a repo outgrows five files, the shape that scales is directories by volatility: a small always-loaded `core/`, then `domains/`, `projects/`, and `systems/` read on demand, plus `memory/` for granular one-fact-per-file notes indexed by a `MEMORY.md`. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
