clud-docker-recover SKILL.md skillA
clud-docker-recover from zackees/clud is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.
mdr add zackees/clud/clud-docker-recover@git:20261001.ed53bdbPins git:20261001.ed53bdb in mdr.lock. Pin the fingerprint instead.

Diagnose and recover a wedged Docker Desktop, missing engine pipe/socket, stopped or failed WSL distro, backing-volume exhaustion, ext4 journal abort/read-only remount, or oversized/corrupt docker_data.vhdx / Docker.raw. Use for safe restart/reset, dangling-object cleanup, disk-pressure diagnosis, VHD relocation/compaction guidance, and explicitly confirmed destructive VHDX deletion plus clean reinitialization. Start with read-only diagnosis; resolve storage from Docker Desktop's real config…
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
<!-- managed-by: clud --> # /clud-docker-recover Keep tool output bounded (narrow searches, capped lists, ranged reads, bulk on disk, no identical repeats): https://github.com/zackees/clud/blob/main/docs/architecture/bounded-output.md Recover a wedged Docker Desktop the way zackees/clud#531 was recovered: **diagnose non-destructively, classify the failure before acting, restart on a bounded schedule, verify against the real daemon, and never touch a Docker storage disk without explicit confirmation.** The incident that motivated this skill had the engine pipe absent while the backend/UI stayed alive — root cause a killed `com.docker.build` child, NOT memory or disk pressure — so *classification comes before action*. Everything routes through the bundled tool: The launcher exports `CLUD_EXE` as its own absolute path. These examples use Bash quoting; in PowerShell use `& $env:CLUD_EXE`, and in cmd use `"%CLUD_EXE%"`. Outside a clud-launched session, set `CLUD_EXE` to the intended binary's absolute path first. ``` "$CLUD_EXE" tool run docker/docker_recover.py doctor # read-only; mutates nothing …

How to install
mdr add zackees/clud/clud-docker-recover@sha256:321bea2c84cc4ff1The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261001.ed53bdb, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
