Bump a plugin's version, write a detailed changelog entry for the upgrade skill to consume, and commit+push. Takes a plugin slug argument identifying which plugin under `plugins/` to release. Use this skill whenever the user says "release", "version bump", "cut a release", "changelog and push", or finishes a set of changes and wants to ship them. Also trigger when the user says "do the release thing" or asks to prepare changes for hermits to pick up.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Release Bump version, write changelog, commit, and push for a single plugin in the monorepo. The changelog entry is critical because the upgrade skill (`skills/hermit-evolve/SKILL.md`) reads it to know what to tell hermits during `/hermitd:hermit-evolve`. ## Usage `/release <plugin-slug>` — release the plugin at `plugins/<plugin-slug>/`. Examples: - `/release hermitd` — release the core plugin - `/release hermitd-dev` — release the dev hermit - `/release hermitd-homeassistant` — release the HA hermit - `/release hermitd-laravel-forge` — release the Laravel Forge hermit If invoked without a slug, list all `plugins/<name>/` directories that contain `.claude-plugin/plugin.json` and ask the operator which one via AskUserQuestion before proceeding. ## Steps ### 0. How to install
mdr add gtapps/hermitd/release@sha256:a8acc1251a0d6a21The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261002.2f2da1b, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
