Phase 4 of App Factory. Keep the existing backend (FastAPI, NestJS, Express, Django, Next.js API) and make the mobile/desktop app talk to it over HTTPS - API base URL, CORS origins capacitor://localhost, http://localhost, https://tauri.localhost, tauri://localhost, auth cookies or tokens. Sidecar backend only when a local desktop backend is required.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# App Backend Bridge
## When to use
Whenever the app calls an API or uses auth.
## Inputs
- Backend framework, deployed backend URL, auth library and transport.
## Procedure
1. Never rewrite the backend. Changes are limited to CORS and cookie settings, proposed to the user as a diff first.
2. App origins to allow: `capacitor://localhost` (iOS), `http://localhost` and `https://localhost` (Android), `https://tauri.localhost` (Windows), `tauri://localhost` (macOS, Linux).
3. CORS per backend, with credentials when cookies are used:
- FastAPI: `CORSMiddleware(allow_origins=[...], allow_credentials=True, allow_methods=["*"], allow_headers=["*"])`.
- Express / NestJS: `cors({ origin: [...], credentials: true })` / `app.enableCors({...})`.
- Django: `django-cors-headers`, `CORS_ALLOWED_ORIGINS`, `CORS_ALLOW_CREDENTIALS = True`, plus `CSRF_TRUSTED_ORIGINS`.
- Next.js route handlers: `Access-Control-Allow-Origin` echo of the allowed origin + `OPTIONS` handler.

How to install
mdr add navinspire-ia/navin/app-backend-bridge@sha256:f0410ea4759cb0c4The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261027.7b46ce6, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
