# AGENTS.md : @webjsdev/ui
The webjs **AI-first component library + CLI**, `webjsui init` / `add` /
`list` / `view` / `diff` / `info` / `build` / `lint`. Ships 35 primitives across two
tiers: class-helper functions for visual components, custom elements only
where state matters. Variant names, sizes, and data-attribute conventions
mirror shadcn so existing shadcn knowledge transfers directly.
Framework-wide rules live in the root [`../../AGENTS.md`](../../AGENTS.md) and
apply here. Read that first. This file only covers what's specific to
`@webjsdev/ui`.
## Architecture : composition-first, two tiers
`@webjsdev/ui` ships **class-helper functions** (returning Tailwind class
strings) and **a small set of stateful custom elements**, never bundled
wrappers around native form controls.
### Tier 1 : class helpers (the majority)
Pure functions returning Tailwind class strings. Compose with whatever
native element you want.

How to install
mdr add webjsdev/webjs/packages/ui/AGENTS.md@sha256:32000ab9aa5a70aaThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261007.2a9613c, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
