dotnet-flaky-test-diagnosis SKILL.md skillA
dotnet-flaky-test-diagnosis from arasz/ai-badger is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.
mdr add arasz/ai-badger/dotnet-flaky-test-diagnosis@v1.0.0Pins v1.0.0 in mdr.lock. Pin the fingerprint instead.

Use when a .NET test fails in the full suite but passes alone (or flakes intermittently): classify via the ladder — intra-test race (lock-guard fake collections), inter-test contention (xunit v3 DisableParallelization collections), or environmental flakes (child PATH/env, cold-worktree asset provisioning) — before blaming the branch. Includes the clean-main baseline check and gate discipline.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# .NET flaky-test diagnosis A test that fails in the full suite but passes in isolation is a PARALLELISM flake, not a regression — unless it fails isolated too, in which case it is a real bug and this skill does not apply. ## Classification ladder (run in this order) 1. **Reproduce in the full suite** — note the exact test names (`grep "FAIL\]" log`). 2. **Isolated re-run** (`dotnet test --filter "FullyQualifiedName~X"`): passes 1/1 → flake candidate; fails → real bug, stop. 3. **Clean-main baseline**: run the same test on pristine origin/main (no branch changes). Fails there too → pre-existing flake, NOT caused by your branch — do not chase it as your regression. Cleanest method in a multi-session repo: a THROWAWAY WORKTREE at the base commit — `git worktree add /tmp/base-check-<sha> <base-sha>` (plus any gitignored runtime assets the suite needs, e.g. an ONNX model), run the failing test there, then `git worktree remove --force`. This never touches the shared main checkout (which other sessions may be using) and survives stash-less. Evidence: the same test name failing at base = pre-existing; passing at base but failing on your branch = yours. …

How to install
mdr add arasz/ai-badger/dotnet-flaky-test-diagnosis@sha256:1dc9964f684cc4bdThe line at the top of this page pins the label v1.0.0, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
