Validates CLAUDE.md files for size, imports, and structure. Use when user asks to "check my CLAUDE.md", "why is my CLAUDE.md too long", "validate imports", or "fix CLAUDE.md errors". Checks file size limits (30KB warning, 50KB error), @import directives, frontmatter in .claude/rules/, and section organization.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. Skill runs `claudelint validate-claude-md` 2. Shows CLAUDE.md is 52KB (exceeds 50KB hard limit) 3. Identifies 3 largest sections: API docs (18KB), Git workflow (12KB), Testing guide (8KB) 4. Shows how to split: create .claude/rules/api.md and add `@import .claude/rules/api.md` **Result**: User splits sections, CLAUDE.md now 28KB, Claude loads it successfully ### Example 2: Import shows "file not found" in Claude …

How to install
mdr add pdugan20/claudelint/validate-cc-md@sha256:a7168d9cd3f24befThe line at the top of this page pins the label v1.0.0, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
