# prospect-brief A card you can read in two minutes before a call. What they have built, how to open, what proof to bring, and what they will push back on. ## Look inward before you look outward The order is not optional, because the most useful fact is almost always already on this machine and a web search buries it. 1. `./contacts` in the professional contacts index, and the `people` CLI. 2. `mac mail` and `mac messages` history for that person. When did he last speak to them, and about what? 3. The second brain: `PEOPLE.md`, and any memory naming them. 4. Only then the web. The card opens with the relationship, not the research. "You last spoke in March about the Austin deal" changes the call. A company summary does not. ## What the card holds - **Who they are**, in three lines. Role, what they actually own, what they have built that matters. - **The relationship.** Last contact, what was said, anything owed either way. - **How to open.** One specific line, drawn from something real. - **Proof to bring.** Which case, which number, which name, and why that one fits this person. - **Five objections** they are likely to raise, each with a response. …
