Codex debugging: codex-rs core/tui/exec/cli/app-server/config.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. # Codex Debugging
Use when investigating Codex CLI/app behavior, config parsing, tool behavior, prompts, MCP/app wiring, or runtime bugs.

## Workflow
1. Identify whether the behavior is CLI, TUI, app server, protocol, config, or exec/tooling.
2. Read the owning module and adjacent tests before proposing changes.
3. Check local config in `~/.codex/config.toml` only after understanding the source contract.
4. Prefer small repros or focused tests over broad speculation.
## Notes
- For OpenAI API/product docs, use the official-docs path only when source is insufficient.
- For local browser automation in CLI, use `$browser-use`; the bundled Browser plugin is Codex app-only.Read the whole file at its exact version.
How to install
mdr add steipete/agent-scripts/codex-debugging@sha256:886a702668f1f002The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260523.0a2d76c, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
