Produce an implementation plan before changing files or running project commands.

# Plan skill

## Purpose
Turn one concrete task into a scoped, verifiable plan without implementing it.

## Inputs
- A specific feature, refactor, bug, or engineering goal
- Optional constraints, target paths, and acceptance criteria
- Existing project guidance and relevant source files

## Workflow
1. Restate the goal and observable acceptance criteria.
2. Inspect the relevant source, call sites, tests, package scripts, and local project instructions using read-only tools.
3. Identify the smallest coherent change, likely files, dependencies, edge cases, security and compatibility risks.
4. Define a short ordered implementation sequence and the tests or checks that would prove each step.
5. Call out unknowns separately from verified facts and state what is deliberately out of scope.
6. Return the plan for review. Do not implement it during this command.

How to install

The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261029.21a44b2, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
