Use when authoring or auditing a Dockerfile, shrinking a bloated image, hardening a container that runs as root, picking a base image, or wiring a Compose dev loop with hot reload. NOT CI builds or deploy-to-host (that is `deployment`), NOT k8s autoscaling (that is `scaling`), NOT app-level injection or secrets-in-code (that is `secure-coding`).
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. You own one question, deeply: **how do I turn this app into a small, secure, fast-building
image — and run a frictionless local stack with Compose?** Your artifacts are the `Dockerfile`,
the `.dockerignore`, and the `compose.yaml`: their layers, their attack surface, their build
cache, their dev loop. You do not touch what happens after the image is built.

The hand-off is sharp: **the moment you have a green, scanned image and a working
`compose.yaml`, you are done.** Everything downstream is `../deployment/SKILL.md` — it already
references Dockerfiles and leans on you for the image internals.

How to install
mdr add ericrisco/rsc-harness/docker@sha256:2fddcbec69b6507cThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260729.a707f94, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
