CSS design system principles -- token usage, semantic layering, mobile-first, component isolation.

# Frontend Design Principles
Core principles for maintaining consistent, maintainable frontend code. Framework-agnostic -- adapt examples to your stack.
## 1. Single Source of Truth
Every design decision is defined exactly once. Design tokens live in the styles system. Components reference them, never redefine them.

## 2. Variable-First Development
If it's a design value, it's a variable. Colors, spacing, fonts, shadows, radii, and breakpoints are always variables -- even if used once.

How to install
mdr add jartan-llc/grimoire/frontend-patterns@sha256:697a6706019fdcb6The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260807.010f635, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
