dotnet-sqlcipher-encryption SKILL.md skillA
dotnet-sqlcipher-encryption from arasz/ai-badger is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.
mdr add arasz/ai-badger/dotnet-sqlcipher-encryption@v1.0.0Pins v1.0.0 in mdr.lock. Pin the fingerprint instead.

Use when working with SQLCipher-encrypted SQLite in .NET (e_sqlite3mc / SQLitePCLRaw bundle): raw 256-bit keys via Password='x'<hex>'', deriving keys from ed25519 SSH keys, PRAGMA rekey constraints (WAL unsupported), pluggable key-source providers (env/keychain/vault) with the pre-open sidecar pattern, and Dapper-over-SQLite3MC mapping traps.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# SQLCipher encryption in .NET
Encrypted-at-rest SQLite via SQLCipher-compatible `e_sqlite3mc` (SQLitePCLRaw bundle). The passphrase flows through `SqliteConnectionStringBuilder.Password`. All claims below were MEASURED on macOS + net10 in the reference project
(2026-08-05).
## The raw-key channel (strongest option)
`Password = "x'<64-hex>'"` keys the bank with a RAW 256-bit key — **no KDF**, no passphrase brute-force surface. Verified end-to-end: create → reopen → wrong-key rejection (SqliteException code 26). Prefer raw keys over passphrases whenever
the key material can be a random/derived 32 bytes (file, vault, derivation). Passphrase mode is fine but weaker:
weak passphrases are brute-forceable offline (the header salt + HMAC are on disk).
## Deriving a key from an ed25519 SSH private key
- Parse the OpenSSH private key (`openssh-key-v1` magic, RFC 8709): ciphername must be
`none`; the 32-byte seed is the first 32 bytes of the private half.
- Derive: `SHA-256("<stable-label>" || seed)` → raw 32 bytes → `x'<hex>'`. The label is a STABILITY CONTRACT — changing it silently breaks every existing bank.

How to install
mdr add arasz/ai-badger/dotnet-sqlcipher-encryption@sha256:044a0bc5730c2932The line at the top of this page pins the label v1.0.0, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
