Use when a choice between approaches, libraries or trade-offs has just been settled in this project, when an option was turned down, or when the person has just told you how something is to be done here.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Recording decisions
A choice settled in this session and not recorded is gone when the session ends: the next
session works it out again, or undoes it. mnema is this project's signed, append-only record of
those choices, kept with the repository, and the server this plugin connects is the way to write
to it.

If you were dispatched by another agent to do a task, you do not record. Put each decision you
made in your final reply: what was settled, why, and what was turned down. End the reply with one
fenced block whose info string is `mnema-handback`, holding
`{"decisions":[{"settled":"…","why":"…","turnedDown":"…"}]}`, the list empty if you settled nothing
(`mnema handback --schema` prints the schema). A hook of this plugin sends a reply without it back
once. Whoever dispatched you records it. Then skip the rest of this skill.

How to install
mdr add felipesauer/mnema/recording-decisions@sha256:7cb4ae166fd5da0fThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261028.2f9afed, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
