What the file says
# deep-research
Research fails in a specific way: it returns a confident summary nobody can
check, built from the first page of one search. This skill is the contract
that prevents that.
## Plan before searching
Write the plan first and show it: the question in one sentence, what would
count as an answer, which sources would settle it, and what would change your
mind. Research with no stated question returns whatever it finds.
Ask clarifying questions here if the question is genuinely ambiguous, then
start. Do not ask permission to begin.
## The source contract
Research across media. At planning time, map repositories, official documentation,
papers and datasets, videos and talks, practitioner writing, forums and issue
discussions, and authorized first-hand material to the questions they can answer.
Search each relevant medium; record unavailable or inapplicable ones explicitly.
Do not silently reduce research to web articles or treat a search result as read.
Repositories are a required search track for technical research.

Pin to a label to follow the author's releases, or to a sha256 to freeze the exact bytes forever. Either way the resolved hash is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install reproduces it on any machine.
