security-audit SKILL.md skillA
security-audit from cowork-os/cowork-os is an agent skill: a SKILL.md folder an AI agent loads when a task calls for it.
mdr add cowork-os/cowork-os/security-audit@v2.0.0Pins v2.0.0 in mdr.lock. Pin the fingerprint instead.

Answer security questions about code, review a file or change for vulnerabilities, or run a full multi-agent audit of a codebase with a coverage ledger and independently verified findings.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Security Audit
Two modes share one skill:
- **Advise** (the default). Security questions, a focused review of a named file, function or
diff, or "is this safe?". Answer in the conversation. Write no files.
- **Full audit**. A complete audit or pen-test-style review of a codebase or a large part of it.
Runs six phases with sub-agents and writes a findings file and a report.
Loading this skill never starts a full audit by itself.
`{baseDir}` is this skill's folder and `{artifactDir}` is the task's output folder. The skill
prompt gives both as real paths.
## Choose the mode
Run a **full audit** only when the user:
- asks to audit, pen test or "security review" a whole repository, service or package;
- asks for a full, deep or comprehensive security review; or
- asks for audit artifacts (a findings file, a report, a coverage ledger).
Everything else is **advise** mode. If the request could be either ("check this project for
security issues"), ask one short question: a quick answer now, or a full audit that runs
several agents and takes longer.
Use other skills when they fit better: `dependency-check` for known-vulnerable package versions,
…Read the whole file at its exact version.
How to install
mdr add cowork-os/cowork-os/security-audit@sha256:c124d1bd846b59eaThe line at the top of this page pins the label v2.0.0, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
