Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Newsletter Writer Skill — /newsletter-writer Weekly newsletter pipeline: scaffold structure, gather data, query the author, synthesize in their voice, review, send. **Worked example throughout:** a fictional newsletter, **The Sleep Brief**, written by a popular-science sleep author whose community site is `deeprest.example.com` and whose X handle is `@sleepauthor`. Substitute your own newsletter name, brand, domain, and handle — they live in your project's `config.md` (see Configuration). ## Philosophy This newsletter is **behind the scenes**, not a content recap. Readers can go read the tweets and articles themselves. The newsletter gives them what they can't get anywhere else: WHY the author wrote it, what they were trying to achieve, the deeper reasoning that didn't fit in 280 characters, and how the author's project interacted with the world that week. Every section answers "what was I thinking?" not "what did I post." ## Commands - `/newsletter` or `/newsletter draft` — Full pipeline: scaffold → gather → query → enhanced scaffold → draft → review - `/newsletter scaffold` — Create doc with empty skeleton structure (header, HRs, placeholder sections, footer) …

How to install
mdr add travsteward/openwriter/newsletter-writer@sha256:e83a363e706e126fThe line at the top of this page pins the label v0.2.0, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
