Writes to a repo's open GitHub issues: fixes type and lifecycle labels, re-scores priority, fills sizing labels, cleans up issue prose, and proposes merging clusters of small issues. Auto-applies safe changes, flags the rest. Trigger on: "run issue maintenance", "tidy the backlog", "re-prioritize open issues", "consolidate small issues".
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Issue Maintenance `prioritize-issues` reports; `analyze-issue` specs out one issue for implementation. This skill maintains — it mutates the backlog: labels, priority, and issue text. Five passes, one report. ## 0. Prerequisites - `gh` authenticated for the target repo. If `gh` isn't installed (some hosted/cloud sessions), every step below has a GitHub MCP equivalent (`mcp__github__list_issues`, `issue_read`, `issue_write`, `get_label`) — same data, different transport. Say which you used in the report. - No repo clone. Everything here is issue metadata (title, body, comments, labels) via `gh issue` — skip the `mktemp -d` / `gh repo clone` step entirely, unlike `code-health-audit`'s and `plain-language-audit`'s scheduled pattern. This skill never touches source files. The one exception is the label-convention doc in §4b, which is a single API file read, not a clone. ## 1. How to install

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
