# Repository Guidelines
[PROTO.md](./PROTO.md) is the canonical source of instructions for every agent
working in this repository. Read it completely before making changes, and follow
its development, testing, architecture, and pull-request requirements.
Do not duplicate repository guidance in this file. When instructions need to
change, update `PROTO.md` so all agent integrations continue to share one source
of truth.
The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260826.039be25, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
