Produce or modify Word documents (.docx) as real files — reports, memos, letters, proposals, or any deliverable the operator will open in Word. Use when the requested output is a Word file, or when an existing .docx needs content extracted, edited, or restructured. Not for spreadsheets, decks, or PDFs — those have their own skills.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Word documents with python-docx
Deliverables are files: write the document with `execute_code` using
`python-docx`, save it into the operator's fenced project folder (if there
are several, ask once which and remember it), and report the saved path. If the library
is missing, say so — it's declared in this plugin's `requires_pip` and the
operator installs it once from the console.

- Build structure from headings, not bold paragraphs — headings drive the
navigation pane and any generated table of contents.
- For letters/memos, set base styles once (`doc.styles["Normal"].font`)
rather than styling every run.
- Images: `doc.add_picture(path, width=Inches(5))`.

How to install
mdr add protolabsai/protoagent/docx@sha256:653f90c1dc12e285The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261006.9b4f42f, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
