Use when a Scenario output must be checked and improved rather than accepted first roll: iterating a generation until it matches the brief, fixing a batch that came back off-brief, retrying failed shots methodically, wiring an automated generate, review, revise loop, or deciding whether to re-prompt, swap references, inpaint, post-process, or change model. Keywords: refine, iterate, critique, review loop, QA, self-correction, verify, acceptance criteria, retry, drift.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Scenario Refine Loop ## Overview Agents fail generation QA in two symmetric ways: accepting the first roll, or rewording the whole prompt and re-rolling until the budget dies. Both skip the same two artifacts, a written rubric and a diagnosis. The loop that converges: rubric before generating, a small batch, a recorded verdict per asset, the cheapest targeted fix per failure, a hard round cap. Connection and the core loop: see the `scenario` skill. Critic tool contracts: `scenario-asset-analysis`. Baseline discipline: `scenario-consistency`. If a sibling skill named here is missing from your available skills, ask the user to install it (`npx skills add scenario-labs/skills --skill <name>`); unattended, proceed from tool schemas and flag the gap. ## Quick reference | Step | Do | | ----------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | …

How to install
mdr add scenario-labs/skills/scenario-refine-loop@sha256:3174e97231787ba0The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260916.5d223d9, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
