Parse and analyze Cobalt Strike Malleable C2 profiles using dissect.cobaltstrike.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Analyzing CobaltStrike Malleable C2 Profiles ## Overview Cobalt Strike Malleable C2 profiles are domain-specific language scripts that customize how Beacon communicates with the team server, defining HTTP request/response transformations, sleep intervals, jitter values, user agents, URI paths, and process injection behavior. Threat actors use malleable profiles to disguise C2 traffic as legitimate services (Amazon, Google, Slack). Analyzing these profiles reveals network indicators for detection: URI patterns, HTTP headers, POST/GET transforms, DNS settings, and process injection techniques. The `dissect.cobaltstrike` library can parse both profile files and extract configurations from beacon payloads, while `pyMalleableC2` provides AST-based parsing using Lark grammar for programmatic profile manipulation and validation. ## When to Use - When investigating security incidents that require analyzing cobaltstrike malleable c2 profiles - When building detection rules or threat hunting queries for this domain - When SOC analysts need structured procedures for this analysis type - When validating security monitoring coverage for related attack techniques ## Prerequisites …

How to install
mdr add andycungkrinx91/konoha/analyzing-cobaltstrike-malleable-c2-profiles@sha256:2438c6e267f75442The line at the top of this page pins the label v1.0, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
