# LCM-X Use this skill when a task concerns LCM-X setup, operation, compaction, diagnostics, session behavior, or recall from compacted and cross-conversation history. The plugin is `hermes-lcm-x` (formerly `hermes-lcm`); this skill keeps the name `hermes-lcm`. Start here: 1. Confirm that the `hermes-lcm-x` plugin is enabled and `context.engine` is `lcm-x` (legacy `lcm` works with a deprecation warning; see `lcm_doctor` `identity_migration`). 2. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved.
