Use when a prompt starts with a marker prefix — `h:`/`hint:` (a lead to validate before acting), `f:`/`feedback:` (a correction to apply immediately), `e:`/`extension:` (a request to widen scope), `q:`/`queue:` (a queued task for after current work), `i:`/`important:` (important, high priority) or `i!:`/`important!:` (immediate emergency interrupt) — every marker also accepts a `!` importance token between alias and colon, making it interrupt-grade — or when the user asks to add, change, or…
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Prompt markers A small set of one- or two-word prefixes a user can put at the very start of a prompt to give an agent an explicit, machine-detectable signal about how to treat what follows — instead of relying on the model to infer intent from phrasing alone, which is inconsistent under long or compacted context. ## The markers | Prefix | Meaning | Required behavior | |---|---|---| | `h:` / `hint:` | A potential insight or lead, not a command | Validate first — do a quick research pass (search the project, check relevant files/docs) before acting on it, and report what you found | | `f:` / `feedback:` | Direct critique or correction on previous work | High priority — address it before other work, referring back to the specific point in session history, and cite the failing output, validator result, or source evidence behind the correction | | `e:` / `extension:` | A request to expand the current task's scope | Analyze the new requirement; fold it into the current unit of work if it fits, or flag it for a follow-up task if it's too large | …

How to install
mdr add arasz/ai-badger/prompt-markers@sha256:335fb9375f2ad077The line at the top of this page pins the label v1.0.0, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
