Security audit tool for AI agent skills. Scans for credential harvesting, code injection, network exfiltration, obfuscation. ALWAYS run before installing any new skill from external sources. Triggers on: new skill installation, skill audit, security scan, skill review, before loading external skill.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Skill Security Scanner Security audit tool for AI agent skills. **Run before installing any new skill.** ## Bundled Resources Run from this skill directory (resolve it from the installed package, not the workspace). - [audit.sh](audit.sh) — scan one skill; critical findings append to this package's [blocklist.txt](blocklist.txt). - [audit-all.sh](audit-all.sh) — scan OpenClaw built-in skills and `~/skills`; no directory argument. - [preinstall-check.sh](preinstall-check.sh) — check the [allowlist.txt](allowlist.txt) and blocklist before auditing. ## Quick Audit ```bash # Audit a skill directory ./audit.sh /path/to/skill # Audit all installed skills ./audit-all.sh ``` ## What It Checks | Check | Risk Level | Pattern | |-------|------------|---------| | **Network Exfiltration** | 🚨 HIGH | `requests.`, `urllib`, `http.client`, `socket.`, `fetch(`, `axios` | | **Credential Harvesting** | 🚨 HIGH | `.ssh/`, `.aws/`, `pass `, `keyring`, `credential`, `secret`, `token` file reads | | **Code Injection** | 🚨 CRITICAL | `exec(`, `eval(`, `compile(`, `Function(`, `__import__` | | **Obfuscation** | ⚠️ MEDIUM | `base64.decode`, `atob`, encoded payloads | …

How to install
mdr add suryast/free-ai-agent-skills/skill-security@sha256:21076a8bd3ca269eThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261010.ef59299, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
