Analyze Home Assistant history data and entity patterns to identify automation opportunities, unused devices, and energy anomalies. Use periodically or when looking for optimization opportunities.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# HA Pattern Analysis
## Steps
1. **Load existing analysis**: Read `.hermit/raw/snapshot-ha-pattern-analysis-latest.json` if it exists.
2. **Get live context**: Call `GetLiveContext` and `GetDateTime` via MCP for current state.
3. **Fetch history**: Run `${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/bin/ha-agent-lab ha fetch-history --window-days 7`. When it prints `{"error"}` (exit 1), pipe one line into `.hermit/bin/hermitd-run task note .hermit <id>` only inside an open record's turn (otherwise skip the note) (`history fetch failed: <error>`) and continue: the skill proceeds using Phase 1 silence findings only. Do not surface the fetch failure to scheduled-check stdout.
4. **Read normalized inventory**: Read `.hermit/raw/snapshot-ha-normalized-latest.json`. Extract both `entity_index` and `silence_summary` (added by every context refresh). Also read `.hermit/raw/snapshot-ha-history-7d-latest.json` if present.
5. **Analyze patterns from silence_summary and history**:
From `silence_summary.dead_automations` (enabled automations not fired in 30+ days):
- Each entry is an actionable Reliability issue: `"automation.X has not fired in N days (enabled)"`.

How to install
mdr add gtapps/hermitd/ha-analyze-patterns@sha256:7d1aaea11e18ecceThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261017.16f0d8e, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
