Edge and face features — fillet, chamfer, shell, face refs through operations, holes, cutouts. Use when adding rounded edges, recesses, bolt patterns, or carved profiles to a kernelCAD model.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# kernelCAD — edge and face features
For a general edge-break or radius specification, use `verify({ check: 'edge-radius', file, min_radius_mm?, max_radius_mm?, require_edge_break?: 'external'|'internal'|'all', edges?, faces? })`. It inspects final BREP, reports per-face fillet radii and sharp edges, and treats planar chamfer strips heuristically without claiming a radius. See `docs/guide/edge-radius-check.md`.
## Face refs through operations
Canonical face refs (`{ face: 'top' }`, etc.) work transparently across transforms (`.translate`, `.rotate`, `.scale`, `.reflect`, `.mirror`) and unambiguous booleans (`.subtract`, `.union`, `.intersect`). The kernel walks each face's lineage back to its originating primitive and forward through history.
Two cases produce explicit diagnostics:
- `feature.face-ref.ambiguous-after-split` — an upstream boolean split the named face into multiple children (e.g., a divider cut splits `top` into two halves). Geometry-fallback disambiguation is planned for a future release; current workaround: apply the edge/face feature before the splitting operation, or use a query-based selector.

How to install

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
