Write, rewrite, review, or restructure a GitHub README (and the repo About line and docs split) so a stranger understands the project in one screen and can try it in minutes. Derives the register from the repo instead of imposing a fixed voice. Use when a task touches a README.md, a repo landing page, a project description, a getting-started or install section, or moving technical detail out of a README into docs, even for a README review or audit with no rewrite.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# README authoring A README is a landing page first and a manual second. Most visitors give it one screen and leave. The job is to make that screen answer three questions in order: is this my problem, does this fix it, how do I try it right now. Everything else lives in secondary docs that the README links to. ## Where the work goes This skill can run on its own, outside a larger workflow. It edits files only when the user asks it to write or rewrite; otherwise it returns a draft for the user to review. When it edits a tracked README or docs file, put those edits on a dedicated docs-only worktree and open them as a pull request, never a direct push to the default branch. Follow the host repository's own contribution rules where it has them. Review-only mode writes nothing. ## Before writing Gather the material first. A polished README with thin content is worse than a plain one with real facts. 1. Read the code, the existing README, and the project manifest (`package.json`, `plugin.json`, `pyproject.toml`, or whatever it uses), plus any `docs/`. Note the real install command, the real first command a user runs, and what they see when it works. …

How to install
mdr add khaentertainment/showrunner/readme@sha256:c9638f250d0817afThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261102.279b00a, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
