Review a diff or file through the Chisle lens: flag over-engineering, speculative abstractions, reinvented stdlib, and verbose code that a lazier approach would shrink. One finding per line, no praise. Use when the user says "chisle review", "review this for bloat", or invokes /chisle-review.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Chisle review Review the diff/file for **what could be deleted or simplified**, not for style nits. ## What to flag - Abstraction with one implementation (interface/factory/wrapper for a single case) - Reinvented stdlib (hand-rolled debounce, deep-clone, groupBy, date math) - New dependency for what a few lines or an installed dep already does - Config/option that never varies - Speculative "for later" scaffolding with no current caller - Verbose code where a native platform feature (CSS, DB constraint, `<input type>`) does it ## What NOT to flag - Input validation at trust boundaries - Error handling that prevents data loss - Security / accessibility code - Anything the task explicitly required ## Output format One finding per line. How to install
mdr add jaypokale/chisle/chisle-review@sha256:f3401d3fd7004bf3The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20260728.f024119, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
