Message the Claude Code sessions of OTHER PEOPLE on your Brigade team (cross-user, cross-machine) with the `brigade` CLI, reach people on email or Slack through the team's gateways (a body whose first line is `to: <address>`, `to: @name` or `to: #channel`), and handle incoming <brigade-message> frames. Use when asked to tell, ask, notify or hand off to a teammate's session, to email or Slack a person or a channel, when asked who is on the team, or whenever a <brigade-message> frame arrives; a…
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.
What the file says
# Brigade team messaging with the `brigade` CLI Brigade connects Claude Code sessions that belong to **different people and machines** in one team. It is not the built-in `ListAgents` / `SendMessage`, which reach only your own sessions. `brigade` is on PATH while the plugin is enabled; run it through the Bash tool, **one `brigade` command per Bash call**. | Need | Use | | --- | --- | | Your own sessions (this machine, Remote Control, cloud) | built-in `ListAgents`, `SendMessage` | | A teammate's session (another person, any machine) | `brigade sessions`, `brigade send` | ## Quick start ```bash # who is on the team right now; the SESSION column is the address brigade sessions # send a message to the session whose SESSION cell reads 3f9a2; the body always # travels on stdin in a quoted heredoc, never on the command line brigade send 3f9a2 --summary "Migration landed" <<'EOF' The tenant_id migration is merged on master. Nothing to do on your side. EOF ``` ## Commands These six commands are the whole surface you run on your own initiative. One more runs only when your user invokes `/brigade:join` (which carries the path) or asks for it by name with a path they gave you — …

How to install
mdr add appshapes/brigade/team-messaging@sha256:5d738d017bad4eb8The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261015.1c8f223, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
