Deploy a site on Laravel Forge. Always surface-then-approve (preview-deploy first, then deploy with native approval). Watches via the hermit /watch registry and writes a deploy-incident on failure. Triggers on "deploy", "trigger deployment", "deploy site", "run deployment", "check deployment status".
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Forge Deploy
Trigger a deployment on a Forge site. **Always preview before deploying.** A wrong deploy targets the wrong site — preview eliminates that risk.

## Surface-then-approve flow
### Step 1 — Preview (read-only, never mutates)

Resolves `<server>` and `<site>` to their canonical SDK records and prints:

No network write. A `status` of `no_match` or `ambiguous` instead lists `choices`: ask the operator which one they meant.
### Step 2 — Relay canonical target to operator
Show the canonical server name, IP, site name, and IDs.
### Step 3: Deploy

This triggers the deployment and returns immediately (no blocking wait):

How to install
mdr add gtapps/hermitd/forge-deploy@sha256:e596255df0c8e746The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261019.fb5290c, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
