# AGENTS.md — Rune Agent Architecture
## Overview
Rune is a zero-trust AI agent runtime written in Rust. The **Agent** is the orchestration layer that manages conversation state, calls the LLM provider, executes tool calls through a sandboxed environment, and repeats until it produces a final answer (or hits a configured limit).
## Run Loop

How to install
mdr add fourdollars/rune/AGENTS.md@sha256:4655fc8f50087d75The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261005.60eabcb, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
