# AGENTS.md — Repository Operating Manual > **Read this file before creating, editing, or reviewing any skill in this repository.** > This is Layer 0: always resident. It answers "how does this project work", not "how do I do task X". > Task-level method lives in each skill's `SKILL.md`. Deep knowledge lives in that skill's `references/`. --- ## 1. How to install

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
