Search screen and audio history recorded by Screenpipe and optionally save selected context into claude-mem. Use when the user asks to recall desktop activity, a meeting, or something seen in another app through Screenpipe.
Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

# Screenpipe
Bring context from [Screenpipe](https://screenpipe.com) into the current task.
Requires Screenpipe running on the same computer with recording permissions,
Node.js 20+, and (for saving) claude-mem's local worker.
## Search
Use the user's topic and time window. If they omit a window, start with the last
hour and state that scope. Convert local times to ISO timestamps with timezone
offsets. Default to screen text (`ocr`, including accessibility-derived text);
use `audio` for conversations or `all` when both are relevant.
Before the first search, explain that retrieved text enters the agent conversation
and is sent to the agent's AI provider. Search results are wrapped in `<private>`
so claude-mem's automatic capture doesn't store them; only a note the user asks
to save is stored. This is on-demand retrieval; it does not start recording or
background sync.
Run the bundled helper (resolve its path relative to this skill when
`CLAUDE_SKILL_DIR` is unavailable):

How to install
mdr add thedotmack/claude-mem/screenpipe@sha256:ea608da42c83b37aThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261012.a25cd04, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
