Read from and write to the second brain vault. Subcommands - capture (default), ingest, ask, link, health, refresh, falsify, wrong, compile, eval. Files durable knowledge as specced notes, answers questions from what is already stored, keeps the graph honest as facts age, hunts facts that are wrong rather than merely old, and compiles the session memory directory from the vault. Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. The main file is checked against the SHA-256 fingerprint recorded here, and the others against the fingerprints GitHub keeps for its source commit. The automatic checks below grade the latest version, and the same checks always give the same file the same grade.

## Overview The vault is the durable store for knowledge no repository owns. This skill is the only interface that writes to it. The note grammar is enforced mechanically by [`knowledge-note-guard.py`](../../hooks/knowledge-note-guard.py), so a note that violates the specification never lands; the job here is to produce notes that pass on the first try. Read [`rules/knowledge-notes.md`](../../rules/knowledge-notes.md) before any write. Read the vault's own operating manual at the vault root before resolving any folder. ## When to Use - A fact, decision, or lesson from the session will matter in a later session and no repository owns it. - A source such as a document, a transcript, or a URL holds knowledge worth deriving into notes. - A question may already be answered by the vault, so it is asked there before anywhere else. - The vault needs maintenance: a weekly health, refresh, falsify, eval, and compile pass, or a wrong answer just surfaced. ## Process 1. How to install

This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
