Validates a computable phenotype against chart review: 2x2 table, PPV, NPV, sensitivity, specificity, Wilson intervals. Use when checking a phenotype or code list.

# Phenotype Algorithm Validation ## Skill Value - **Problem it solves:** Phenotype algorithms can look plausible but misclassify cases, and their accuracy can differ across subgroups or datasets. - **Use when:** The user defines, reviews, or validates clinical phenotypes, code lists, or computable cohort definitions. - **Output:** Phenotype validation report (2x2, PPV/NPV/sensitivity/specificity with Wilson CIs, subgroup results, sample-size caveats), a suppressed aggregate CSV, a concept-set provenance update, and a handoff signal. - **Ask only if:** Only when phenotype target, source vocabularies, or validation data are unclear. - **Do not do:** Do not certify clinical validity without evidence. - **Interaction:** Check repo/config/chat evidence first. How to install
mdr add sajor2000/methodsmith/method-phenotype@sha256:7288691ec29bcfb6The line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261017.73cbef7, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
