Fetch transcripts from YouTube videos for summarization, analysis, or reference. Accepts video ID or full URL. No API key required. Triggers: YouTube transcript, video transcript, get subtitles, what did they say in the video, summarize YouTube, extract video text, caption from video.

Collected from public GitHub. Every version is saved exactly as it was and never changes. Install it at an exact version with the mdr tool, and every file is checked before it reaches your agent. # YouTube Transcript

Fetch transcripts from YouTube videos. Works with both auto-generated and manually added captions.

## When to Use

- Summarizing YouTube videos
- Analyzing video content without watching
- Extracting quotes or references from videos
- Any task involving YouTube video content

## Usage

- Requires the video to have captions/transcripts available (auto-generated or manual)

How to install

The exact contents, by fingerprint

mdr add canvascoding/canvas-notebook/youtube-transcript@sha256:3c12e6e2f77e8a2e

The line at the top of this page pins the label v1.0, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
