# Email a person through the team's mail gateway A team may have a mail gateway: a hosted member whose session (`mail-gateway`, harness `gateway-email`) mails what it is sent and carries what people write back. This skill sends one message to it. `$ARGUMENTS` is what came after `$brigade:email`: typed by the user, or passed by you when they asked in words and you loaded this skill — their address and their words, never ones you chose. 1. Read `$ARGUMENTS`, ignoring surrounding whitespace. How to install
mdr add appshapes/brigade/email@sha256:83a40aacb787f14eThe line at the top of this page pins the label git:20261017.060f486, which is what most people want. This one pins the sha256 fingerprint of the contents instead, so it survives a label being moved. Either way the exact version is written to mdr.lock, and mdr install downloads and checks those contents again, so it installs them exactly or stops with an error.
